In reading, students develop the skills to analyze texts, ask meaningful questions, and deepen their understanding of what they read. They engage with a variety of genres, including stories, poems, articles, and informational texts. Through these experiences, students expand their vocabulary, identify central ideas and supporting details, interpret the author’s message, and make connections between new information and prior knowledge.
Parents can support their child’s reading growth by discussing books together, asking thought-provoking questions, and encouraging exploration of new words and ideas at home. |
